Georgia Teaching Fellows is a highly-selective program designed to recruit and train outstanding professionals and recent college graduates to become highly effective teachers in our highest-need public schools. An officially approved TAPP program, we are committed to providing Georgia's students with a new generation of educators who will give whatever it takes to significantly increase student achievement in their classrooms. We are seeking passionate and accomplished individuals from all professional and academic backgrounds to make a commitment to students in traditionally underserved schools and communities in Georgia.
No previous experience or coursework in education is necessary. Those with math, science, or special education experience are especially encouraged to apply.
We know that teacher quality is the most critical factor in raising student achievement for all students, regardless of background or socioeconomic status. An effective teacher has the ability to change the trajectory of student academic growth by accelerating students‚ learning so that they can catch up to their peers. Georgia Teaching Fellows benefit from:

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree conferred by June 15, 2012
- A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or higher from an accredited college or university
- Academic background in a field outside of education
- Must not have held certification as a full-time classroom teacher in Georgia or any state at any time
- Must not have been enrolled in another alternate route certification program
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
