Specific responsibilities include general ledger close, balancing and reporting cash activity and detailed and thorough financial analytics. *This position will require up to 50% travel for the first 6 months for training/transitioning responsibilities. Primary Duties: Supports the Accounting Supervisor in the general ledger close cycle (including account reconciliations, revenue recognition, journal entries, accruals, and account analysis) Responsibility for the monthly preparation of management and financial reports. Preparation of analysis of accounts and supporting reconciliations. Provides meaningful analytics which highlights variances, trends and potential issues. Works with the Accounting Supervisor on all accounting activity including bank account reconciliation and cash reporting. Documenting and implementing procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls. Perform special projects as requested by Management. General support to the Accounting Supervisor as needed. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree, Accounting / Finance and a minimum of 5-10 years of Finance/Accounting experience in a dynamic/changing organization. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (thorough understanding of G/L account reconciliation and other accounting processes). Strong initiative and follow-up. High level of computer literacy is required with particular emphasis on Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Experience in BST and Hyperion Financial Management is highly desired.
