Job Title:Box Office Coordinator - G12 - Civic Center

Location: Civic Center, 400 4th St, Columbus, Georgia
Department:Civic Center
 
Opens the box office for business at appropriate times during the week and on weekends. Sells tickets to Civic Center events. Balances all ticket sellers cash drawers at the end of the day and on event days; counts, verifies, and straps all monies to be deposited. Supervises event staff including ticket takers and ticket sellers; handles questions and makes change for ticket sellers. Prints daily and event reports. Pulls complimentary or consignment tickets for clients. Answers customer questions concerning seating and ticket pricing. Updates, prints, and distributes the box office event schedule. Produces color maps and seating charts; assists customers with seat location. Trains and schedules employees. Collects change from bank. Operates the money counter. Secures the building at the end of the day. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of Civic Center ticketing operations. Knowledge of Civic Center seating arrangements. Knowledge of cash handling principles. Knowledge of basic accounting and arithmetic. Skill in problem solving and decision-making. Skill in operating standard office equipment including computers and related software programs. Skill in oral and written communication.


 Minimum Educational and Training Requirements:
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.

 Physical Requirements:

The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light objects. The work is typically performed in an office.
