- Description
The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office/Jail Division is hiring on a continuous basis for Detention Officers.
- Essential Tasks
Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: performing a variety of correctional duties relative to the control, safety, and supervision of inmates detained at the Dougherty County Jail.
- Minimum Qualification
For this position, applicant must be:
1.At least 18 years of age;
2.United States citizen;
3.High School graduate or equivalent;
4.Certified/Jailer or eligible for Detention Officer Certification status in accordance with Georgia State Standards;
5.Able to clear background investigation;
6.Able to pass a physical fitness test; and
7.Provide Compass/Asset scores from Technical College or University.
ABILITY TO SPEAK AND INTERPRET SPANISH OR CURRENT P.O.S.T. CERTIFICATION WILL BE HIRED AT SECOND STEP ON PAY GRADE.
NOTE: In addition to the completed County application, applicants must secure, complete and submit a supplemental packet to the Dougherty County Jail located at 1302 Evelyn Ave, Albany, GA 31705. Applicants for law enforcement vacancies must submit copies of: a) Birth Certificate, b) High School Diploma or equivalent, c) Valid Georgia Driver's License, and d) DD 214 military discharge (if applicable) at the time of application. Failure to submit the package and copies of the required documents at the time of application will result in non-consideration.

SALARY: $29,282.79 annually.
