Job Description

Sous Chef sought by Sea Island Company, LLC in Sea Island, GA. Assist in the coordination of all food ops. Assist in purchasing, receiving, storage, issuance, prep., and presentation of food items. Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the sr. sous chef or chef de cuisine Reqs.: Associate degree in Hospitality Mgmt., Hotel Mgmt., Culinary Arts, Tourism, or a rel. field and five yrs. of exp. in the job offered or rel. culinary leadership position in either a high-end hotel, resort, or quality restaurant. The ability to follow standardized recipes, use sharp knives safely and proficiently, and perf. repetitive tasks with accuracy. The ability to operate gas fired and electric ranges and ovens, steam kettles, broilers, tilting pan, deep fryer, slow roaster, grill, grinder and chopper, slicer, scales, mixers, and potato peeler safely and proficiently. The ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods. The ability to wrk. for ext. time periods in an enviro. with extreme heat and/or cold. The ability to wrk. for ext. time periods in an outdoor enviro., incl. sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels. Valid Georgia driver's license required.
