What is a Certified Peer Specialist Parent?
Good question. A Certified Peer Specialist Parent or CPS-P, is the parent or legal guardian of a child who is living with a mental health, substance use or a co-occurring diagnosis who provides support to other parents who are raising a child with similar behavioral health conditions.
The InTUNE Program of River Edge is looking for an individual who is passionate and motivated about assisting emerging adults with moving toward their life goals. InTUNE is a recovery-based program in Bibb and Houston County that provides mental health services to families with children age 16-30. The Certified Peer Specialist Parent works as part of a team in order to support and empower participants and their families.
To qualify for a job as a Peer Specialist - Parent you must have a child that has a mental health diagnosis. A parent with work experience as a Certified Peer Specialist is preferred but not required. If you are not currently certified but you would like to work as a Peer Specialist - Parent and you are willing to provide 20-30 hours per week of peer support to other parents please apply today!
Also you must:
- Be experience navigating complex public health or child serving systems of care;
- Be able to share your own personal story in a safe and appropriate way;
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Provide (1) letter of reference (please include contact information);
- Be able to commit to a 5-day training.
Location: Multi-site position including seeing clients in Warner Robins and Macon, GA
Schedule: Part-time 20 hours a week (Monday through Thursday)
