The River Edge Recovery Center (CSU) is a residential alternative to or diversion from inpatient hospitalization, offering psychiatric stabilization and detoxification services. The program provides medically monitored residential services for the purpose of providing psychiatric stabilization and substance detoxification services on a short-term basis for adults and children.

River Edge is looking a Certified Peer Specialist Parent who is passionate and motivated about assisting children and their families with meeting recovery milestones by providing lived experience as a parent/caretaker of a child with a mental health diagnosis.

Candidate must be willing to use their lived experience to support others in their recovery.  Will work on a team to provide services to children and adolescents ages 5-14 years and their families at our River Edge Recovery Center, which is a residential alternative to or diversion from inpatient hospitalization, offering psychiatric stabilization. Will serve as a consumer advocate; provide consumer information and peer support for consumers and their families in a variety of settings.  The CPS- P performs a wide range of tasks to support individuals to include group services. 

Location/Schedule:  Available first shift positions from 7am to 3pm and Second shift positions from 3pm to 11pm.

Minimum Training and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have lived experience as a parent/caretaker of a child with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Must be trained as a Certified Peer Specialist-Parent (CPS-P) or willing to undergo training to become a Certified Peer Specialist-Parent (CPS-P) 
  • Can be CPS willing to obtain CPS-P certification.

All selected applicants must pass a satisfactory drug screen and background clearance.
