Position Summary
The RFID Implementation Project Leader is a specialized position within CribMaster’s implementation team. This person is responsible for the installation of CribMaster hardware and software solutions at customer sites, primarily RFID-enabled inventory management solutions. The work will include new equipment installations as well as upgrades or repairs to existing systems. This position requires significant travel to customer sites, approximately 50%, mostly to industrial sites such as factories and mines. Some of these sites are in remote locations requiring significant flying and driving. Candidate must be available to travel anywhere in the U.S. and Canada for up to 5 days at a time, and occasionally longer internationally. Working conditions at customer sites are frequently challenging: loud, dirty, and not climate controlled. This is a high-visibility position with plenty of opportunities for technical and professional growth.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical generalist with knowledge of IT hardware, software, data, networking, and RFID. A healthy curiosity about how things work is necessary, as the ideal candidate will frequently need to troubleshoot components, perform research to resolve issues, and manage their own learning about CribMaster products. The ability to write effectively is an important part of the position, as the ideal candidate will communicate frequently via email, and write technical documents related to projects and processes. Above-average skill with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio required. Effective speaking skills are essential as this position requires frequent communication over the phone and face-to-face. This is a customer-facing position and the ideal candidate is someone who will represent CribMaster well during on-site implementations by being well-organized, technically competent, and working effectively as part of a technical team. Knowledge of tools and industrial processes is very helpful.
Essential Job Functions
  • Prepares all software and hardware to be used for customer site installation, including, but not limited to, ensuring all machine configurations are correct and data is imported and cleaned
  • Acts as the customer’s technical advocate and makes recommendations that facilitate efficient and productive implementations
  • Understands various deployment options of CribMaster products and ensures these are utilized to meet customer needs
  • Follows detailed installation processes and procedures
  • Prepares training curriculums and provides product training to meet customer needs
  • Develops custom documentation to match customer processes
  • Develops solutions and educates customers in various stages of product implementation
  • Assists with preparing formal project plans for customers
  • Supports the sales team with RFID opportunities including pre-sale customer site surveys
  • Completes RFID / Non-RFID implementations, training, and post implementation support.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical subject or significant related work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking basics
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting software on Windows computers
  • Fundamental understanding of databases, particularly SQL Server
  • Solid understanding and use of Microsoft Excel to analyze and manipulate data
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills: formal, informal, and technical
  • Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others
  • Ability to self-learn
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to use standard hand tools to repair/replace mechanical and electronic components. Must have basic knowledge of electricity and radio.
  • Must have industrial safety aptitude: the ability to work safely in potentially dangerous environments that include welding, milling, stamping, heavy machinery, high-temperatures, platforms, ladders, enclosed spaces, and chemicals.
  • Ability to teach IT and software techniques and features
  • Familiarity with tools, industrial processes, and inventory management is a plus
  • Familiarity with database reporting software such as Crystal Reports is a plus
  • Familiarity with RFID concepts and technology is a plus
  • Knowledge of UHF Gen2 Passive RFID technology is a plus
  • Knowledge of IOT technologies is a plus
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Experience with RFID testing a plus
  • Experience in field service, field engineering a plus
