  • Responsibilities

    Serves as a liaison with the Richmond County, Columbia County, and Aiken County (S.C.) school systems, providing athletic training services and coverage at practices, games and community events as assigned. Educates athletes, parents, and school support staff in matters relating to athletic training by providing instructions and general information. Carries out the practice of prevention, evaluation, management, disposition, treatment, or rehabilitation of athletic injuries upon the advice and consent of a physician and within the scope of practice of an athletic trainer.


    Baccalaureate Degree in Exercise Science or similar exercise discipline

    Current license from the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers.

    Current certification from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Division of Emergency Medical Services preferred.

    Certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, Inc.

    One to two years of experience as an athletic trainer is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Demonstrates a high degree of enthusiasm, initiative, and positive attitude.

    Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with clients and visitors.

    Must be able to communicate well and provide effective verbal and written instruction to clients.

    Must possess high level of analytical ability and knowledge of materials, procedures and equipment used to evaluate and treat a wide variety of athletic injuries.

    Physical Demands
    Must have above average health and physical fitness required for running and walking while training athletes and frequently lifting, transporting, positioning, and treating athletes of all sizes with various athletic injuries.
